Best of Vancouver Newborn Photographers: Finalists Seven and Eight

During February you submitted your nominations for the best of Vancouver newborn photographers. Newborn babies are magical, and those first photos of them are so precious. You want to make sure you’re trusting the right person to capture the perfect shot. Our judges reviewed all of your nominations, and narrowed it down to the top 10. Today we’re happy to tell you about the seventh and eighth finalists, presented in no particular order.

Jonetsu Studios

Primarily a wedding photography studio (named among Top Ten Wedding Photographers in The World by American Photo Magazine), JONETSU is the married team of Chadwick and Camille Bensler. Since 2000, JONETSU has photographed hundreds of weddings and family sessions internationally. As time permits, they offer newborn and family sessions to new clients, prioritizing the existing relationships they’ve developed over the years. Clients enjoy their unique studio presentation products, designed in-house by Camille and Chadwick personally. Album designs, custom announcement cards and canvas Dreamscapes (a JONETSU original) are all bespoke and stand out as one-of a kind art pieces, like their clients themselves.

The thought you’ve put into your baby’s room, the way you sit together on that chair to feed him, the way your dog peeks around the corner wondering, ‘Who’s that, and why is she getting all the attention, anyway?!'”

Alana Couch Photography

Alana Couch Photography has been in business for seven years and focuses on providing the best in client care. Newborn sessions are photographed in your home and are very relaxed to make yourself and your baby more comfortable.

A newborn session with Alana is not just about adorable photos of a newborn baby (although it’s that too!), but it’s also about the bond between the baby, the whole family and their home. A newborn baby photographed in a hand-knit blanket from grandma; sleeping soundly in a nursery lovingly decorated by mom; or cuddling with siblings and parents in the master bedroom. These details are what make a session so personal and really give a sense of who that baby is.
