Danielle Petkau loves capturing tiny toes and mischievous eyes, witnessing the bond of parents with their children, and is completely addicted to photographing couples on their wedding days. Wouldn’t you want to spend a couple of hours working with a photographer like that?

Why did you get into photography?

Photography has always been a part of my life. My mom was always taking photos and I love going through all of her albums (and even slides!). I absolutely love the memories that they help bring back.
I’ve always packed a camera around with me, but after having kids myself, my passion kicked into high gear and I decided to pursue photography as a career.

Tell us a bit about your company.

I have been in business for a year and a half, and look forward to many more! I am available for newborn, children & family shoots, and weddings. Photo sessions are all “on location” with natural light; whether that be around a client’s home or at a park… somewhere that might have special memories, and most importantly, a place where the kids are comfortable.

How would you characterize your style of photography?

I really try to capture natural and sincere moments. I aim to have simple, timeless photos that my clients can enjoy forever.

Who are your clients?

Young families, brand new moms, and bride & grooms to be!

What should your mom clients expect when working with you?

An understanding of kids being kids. I have three boys, ages 3.5, 2 and 8 months… so I know how crazy it can get. I know they aren’t just going to sit and have their photo taken, and that babies get tired and just need to be held by their mom or dad. I take the time to interact with the kids and get to know them, so that they have a level of trust with me and my camera.
