In The News … Winter Survival Guide for Families

Mon, Jan 4: Christine Pilkington from VancouverMom.ca sat down with Global TV to talk winter activities with families! The Winter Survival Guide is all about getting out and about with the family so those dark, cold days don’t drag you down. Here are some great local activities to help with that.

Snow days at Mount Seymour

As kid-friendly as they get, it’s hard to beat a jaunt up to the snow with the kids! Mount Seymour boasts tobogganing, tubing and snowshoeing for non skiers and skiing & snowboarding as well as great lesson sets. Be sure to cap it all off with a hot chocolate!

Ride the Skytrain, Seabus or Aquabus
Take a ride on the scenic Canada Line out to the  airport to watch the planes or a boat ride to Lonsdale Quay or a quick tour around False Creek on the Aquabus with Granville Island as your final destination.

Beach it
Beaches aren’t just for soaking up summer rays and cooing off in the ocean waves, they offer tons of wintry fun. Fly a kite, hunt for driftwood, go for a walk, and enjoy the vistas!

Fort Langley National Historic Site
Head out to the delightful town of Fort Langley and travel back in time to the 1800s with a visit to the former Hudson’s Bay Company trading post. It’s affordable for a dual entry pass to the Gulf of Georgia Cannery and Fort Langley and it’s open daily. Head to the charming village for a grilled cheese, ice cream or hot chocolate afterwards!
