Top 20 Summer Camps: 1-5

Going to summer camp is one of childhood’s rites of passage. Camp gives kids a chance to have new experiences, gain outdoor survival skills, make new friends and delve deep into an interest that they may not have time for during the regular school year.

Summer camps may offer half-day programs for young children, and full-day or residential programs for primary school-aged kids.  Some camps also offer family programs for parents and kids who want to share the camp experience together.

Whether your child wants to spend all day playing chess or can’t wait to learn how to windsurf, there’s a camp for every kid. Over the next four weeks, we’ll be highlighting 20 of our favourite summer camps for you to check out.

1. Urban Academy

  • Hey Michelle, these choices sound great but not quite right for my kid. She’s 12 going on 35, an amazing artist who wants to learn more and has zero interest in going to camp with younger kids. On top of this, I’m a single low-income working mom. If you have any ideas about what she can do for the next couple summers I’m all ears.
