Top 30 Vancouver Mom Bloggers: 19-24

Lisa Schwartz of Schwartz Chronicles

Top 30 Vancouver Mom Bloggers Lisa SchwartzLisa Schwartz writes Schwartz Chronicles recording the highlights, lowlights and everything in between about life as mom to Sarah (five) and Jack (three). The blog started in May 2010 when she was inspired by Kelle Corrigan’s book Lift that stated most people only have a handful of memories from their childhood. “I wanted to do something to ensure that my kids had more than just a handful of memories. Once I started to write the blog it became much more than a memory keeper. It was a creative outlet where I could express myself. I loved the reflective piece of the blog that made me look at my life, my kids and our adventures in a new way. I celebrated the glass being half full even when one kid was lying on the ground screaming and the other one was begging to be carried. To borrow from Rudyard Kipling, I love this blog because it has taught me to delight in the simple things. I would be remiss not to mention my husband (Captain Canada) who takes all the photos, edits and watermarks them.”

Suzanne Serwatuk of Enchanted Chameleon

Top 30 Vancouver mom bloggers Suzanne SerwatukSuzanne Serwatuk is the Enchanted Chameleon. She is proud to be living her dreams. The Enchanted Chameleon, the Juice Caboose (a mobile juice and smoothie truck), a five year old spitfire boy and a bulldog-beagle named Georgia are her babies. Sometimes she finds time to clean and shower in between. Suzanne has been researching and guinea pigging herself for many years through diet and natural healing in hopes of finding the ultimate balance in health and happiness while easing her ailments and food intolerances along the way. When Suzanne had her little boy, raising a healthy eater became an even bigger priority. Motivating others to make healthier choices, especially mamas and their babes, was her inspiration for creating the Juice Caboose. Suzanne writes about her passions: photography, homeschooling, crafting, homesteading, gluten free baking, knitting and rediscovering herself (a.k.a. growing up). Her goal is to take ONE SMALL, ACHIEVABLE step at a time and the Enchanted Chameleon is her means to inspire others to do the same.

Jessica Blumel of North Shore Mama

Top 30 Vancouver Mom Bloggers Jessica BlumelJessica Blumel says, “I am the mother of a 20-month-old little girl named Portia. My husband, Portia and I have all been raised on the North Shore and love it dearly. I love to cook, read, write, travel, and play with my daughter. My North Shore Mama blog was born from both a personal desire to write about life with Portia, and also from a perceived lack of information when it comes to events, activities and resources for parents on the North Shore. With the encouragement of my lovely network of mamas, I decided to create a place where other families could access any of the child-friendly information that I happen to come across. I feel a great happiness in knowing that other parents in North and West Vancouver (and even beyond) might discover their new favourite park or activity with the help of North Shore Mama.”

Jen Kossowan of Mama.Papa.Bubba.

Top 30 Vancouver Mom Bloggers Jen KossowanI’m Jen, a workaholic teacher turned stay-at-home-mama and Etsy shop owner, living alongside my super daddy husband and darling little girl. Four and a half years ago, my husband and I set out on an overseas adventure and found ourselves living and working in the Middle East, traveling the world in our free time. The most wonderful surprise of all was the little girl we found we were expecting our third year in. Mama.Papa.Bubba. was born after whisking her away from friends and family at just 20 days old to spend her first year living in Kuwait. It was comforting to know that those who loved our baby girl could see her growing and changing during her days on the other side of the planet. Soon our little blog became much more than a way to keep our loved ones up to date. It became a place to save memories, milestones, silly stories, and special moments for our future grown girl – a modern day baby book. Now we’re back at home, readjusting to life in Canada and soaking in all Vancouver has to offer. My passions include cooking and baking, spending time outdoors, play-based learning, crafting, and taking (way too many) photos, all of which you’ll see when you stop by for a visit.

Suzanne Bertani, Mommy Footprint

Top 30 Vancouver Mom Blogs Suzanne BertaniSuzanne Bertani is a proud mom of four children ages six to ten and has been writing articles for her blog Mommy Footprint for four years. The main goal at the beginning of Mommy Footprint was writing to bring attention to the toxic soup of chemicals that surround children and the environment. Understanding that the health of our environment directly effects the health of humans was eye-opening for Suzanne and she’s dedicated the last four years trying to lead a more eco-friendly life with her family and blogging about her journey. She has a love for the forest and thinking of creative ways to encourage her clan into nature and writes about eco-activites, party ideas, and fun ways to keep a large family happy. She secretly yearns for backyard chickens and is not so secretly inspired by hand-made and local West Coast treasures! She carries many of these treasures in her online shop, Green Planet Parties.

Lori McGrath, The Write Mama

Top 30 Vancouver Mom Bloggers Lori McGrathI am a freelance writer and communications consultant living in the ‘burbs of Metro Vancouver. I am also the mama of a rambunctious three-year-old dude and have a wonderful husband who is a
totally involved daddy and means the world to me. For fun, I organize the Coquitlam Moms & Dads Group. My blog, The Write Mama, started with my dream of having a family. We struggled with infertility; then, in a strange twist of fate, I had severe complications due to HELLP Syndrome during my pregnancy and our precious baby was born premature. I began blogging to
work through this journey. My son is now happy and healthy, and these days I love writing about the joys and challenges of life, love and motherhood. The ingredients for this blog, otherwise known as the topics I like to write about, range from parenting and premies to infertility and HELLP Syndrome to career and money.
