Mother’s Day Gifts with Meaning
How can you ever manage to buy the perfect gift for mom, especially given everything she does? Luckily, there’s a certain universal truth to what moms want on Mother’s Day: a little family time with a double dose of thoughtfulness. Give a gift with heart without missing a beat.
Give a crib to a Mom in Need
A crib is one of those big decisions as a new parent. Will it a super modern, see-through lucite one? Maybe coordinate with the nursery decor you have created three Pinterest boards to brainstorm? But for some new mothers, buying a crib, that most basic of new baby needs, is just not part of the equation.
Not Just Any Old Day
If you’re shopping for a mom that’s more about bling than books, e-store Not Just Any Old Day offers a ton of unique ways for mom to keep her kids close to her heart. Imagine a Tiffany-inspired key necklace featuring the calendar birthday of a child, with designs in silver, antique brass, gold. All are marked with a Swarovski available in a number of different birthstone settings. And for moms with an edge, the John Hardy style ring in gun-metal will rock her day.
Reach Out to a Single Mom
Cause We Care is a Vancouver-based charitable foundation, created by women for single mothers and their children in need. They offer gift baskets to moms facing the every day challenges of poverty. In lieu of the usual perfume and candles, one Care Package will be provided to a mother in need, with your $65 donation. This year, Cause We Care aims to bring much needed supplies to over 400 single mothers at over 13 facilities in the Vancouver community.
Make Mother’s Day a Bust
When moms buy their daughters their first bra, it’s an unforgettable milestone. Why not turn the tables on this special mother-daughter experience by returning the favour? Diane Thomson (Diane’s Lingerie), one of the city’s top fitting specialists, has seen a recent trend where Vancouver women are stepping up and bringing in their mothers to discover beautiful new lingerie. And, when more mature moms have seen changes in their body, but haven’t updated their undergarments, the specialty fitting leaves them feeling sexier than ever.
