Christmas Chic: The Sum of Great Style

Christmas Chic: The Sum of Great Style

By Joyce Lau, VancouverMom.ca contributor.

Scenario: Getting ready for a Xmas party

You: “I have nothing to wear!”

You: “Sigh, Iʼll just wear the same thing as last year. No one will remember.”

Sound familiar?

If so, keep on reading. Because the truth is, people do remember. Not to mention that Facebook really helps with that.

Looking fresh and festive doesnʼt have to cost a fortune. Keep it simple by picking a bold colour dress that’s easily accessorized and minimal fuss.

Take this flirty blue dress for an example. You can dress it up with this bead drop necklace. Then accentuate an hourglass figure with a little evening glam by adding a metallic gold belt. Then finish off this feminine look with a great pair of peep toe pumps.

The key is to plan ahead so you can stretch your dollar and make every piece of clothing in your closet an investment. You should always be able to wear your clothes more than once. At $34.50, this dress is a great purchase because you get to wear it again and again.

Hereʼs how:

  1. Take it to work and wear it under a blazer. Pair it with a subtle silver necklace and lower heels.
  2. Go casual. Throw on a cashmere drape cardigan and add a wide belt. Then rock it with a pair of tights
    & boots.
  3. Toss it in your suitcase and bring it along for a trip on a cruise. You can add some bangles and wear it with some sexy wedges.

Donʼt show up at your next Christmas event looking like you forgot to do your laundry. Spruce up your look with an affordable dress and smile because you know you look great.
