Spring Style: Five Fashion Must-Haves for Vancouver Moms

Article by Anna Cohen, Vancouver mom and spring style trend spotter.
Spring in Vancouver can either be rainy, cold or rainy. Did I mention rainy? Spring 2012 is all about bright colours. When the days are cloudy and grim it’s easy to dress your mood and too often in this city I see black, grey and brown. Well, not this spring! Let’s defy the weather and dress all colours of the rainbow.
Some of my favourite local stores in Vancouver when I’m searching for spring style are along the South Granville stretch. I love Oliver & Lilly’s, JNBY, Misch and Spank. Step out of the rain into these warm boutiques and you’re welcomed with a friendly face and adorable pieces. There are plenty of coffee stops along the way and if your kids are with you, there are fantastic play spots at Pottery Barn Kids and Chapters.
Here are my top 5 essential (local) style must-haves for a Vancouver mom’s wardrobe this Spring:
Style Trend 1 – Coloured Jeans
Joe’s Jeans, available at Moule
Style Trend 2 – Eye-Catching Nail Polish
Sunny Capri from Jacob
Style Trend 3 – A Stand-Out Blazer
Heidi Merrick, available at Oliver & Lilly’s
Style Trend 4 – The-Sun-Will-Come-Out Rainboots
Tretorn from Gumdrops
Style Trend 5 – A Statement Purse
Clare Vivier, available at Oliver & Lilly’s
Scare the rain away with your bright clothes and sunny attitude. These five items will certainly lead you in the right direction!
