Where to Shop in Vancouver: Discover East 15th Avenue

Looking to break out of a rut? Contributor Lee-Anne Ekland has the scoop on a fun and funky area that provides the perfect answer for where to shop in Vancouver.
Get to Know your Vancouver Neighbourhoods
I’ve lived in Vancouver most of my life and I’m still surprised by how many neighbourhoods offer unique restaurants and shops that I haven’t seen. I spent most of the past decade in and around Kitsilano and West 4th Avenue and thought that was more than I needed to get my dose of what Vancouver is all about. I am starting to see a entirely new and much more diverse part of town now that I’ve moved a few kilometres east. There are pockets of quaintness and coolness all over the east side that Vancouverites have been quietly enjoying all to themselves.
The secret is out, because here at VancouverMom.ca we have the scoop on what’s amazing and unique about what our lovely city has to offer. Get ready to explore one of my new favourite neighbourhoods.
Discover Where to Shop in Vancouver
Right at the corner of Fraser Street and Kingsway there is a little neighbourhood that in summer you’d probably drive right by because of the gigantic trees that partially shade this part of 15th Avenue.
You’ll find a diverse array of shops and eats on this stretch of East 15th Avenue. If you’re wondering where to shop in Vancouver – or where to eat – you’ll want to check them out!

This is one of the cutest children’s clothing shops I’ve seen in a while. Everything is so delightfully quaint and pretty, I was tempted to buy one of the precious little dresses and I don’t even have a little girl. The prices are very reasonable and the quality high, making it a great answer for where to shop in Vancouver for kids’ clothes.

The Lion’s Den Cafe
Enjoy a kid-friendly Vancouver meal outside under the shade of these lovely old trees along East 15th Avenue. Serving surprisingly delicious Carribean Japanese fusion cuisine, this little gem of a cafe has more than it’s share of quirkiness (the owner’s a hoot) and curried chicken so tender it falls off the bone.
