24/7 Vancouver For Parents

Before children you might choose to pull all-nighters; whether partying with friends or a cram session before a big exam. Once the first baby comes, all-nighters happen whether you’re game or not (not, I’m guessing). They’re the inevitable result of having a newborn, a sick toddler, or a midnight visit from the bogeyman. What every Vancouver mom or dad at this stage of life needs to know is where in Vancouver can they find 24/7 survival supplies. Or a hot meal at 2:00am. As a mom on the Westside, this is my 24/7 Vancouver list.
24/7 Vancouver Resources
Shopper’s Drug Mart on 4th and Vine
Whether it’s Tylenol for a fever or a magazine aisle to peruse when sent out on a 3 AM walk to settle the baby, this Shopper’s Drug Mart will greet you with open arms doors. I find it very comforting to know that a pharmacist is available for consultation 24/7 or that if in my sleep-deprived mind I forget to fill a prescription, I can run out and do it at any time.

B.C. Children’s Hospital
I might be stating the obvious but if you’re new to Vancouver, you may not know about this excellent health facility at your finger tips. If your child has a health emergency, the ER at Children’s Hospital is where you want to go and naturally, it’s open 24/7.
4500 Oak Street | 1-888-300-3088
The Naam
Have you ever wanted to try Vancouver’s most famous vegetarian restaurant? You’re up with the baby anyways, might as well make a midnight munchie trip and grab a Dragon Bowl or their delicious Naam burger. Serving portions are enough for two people or just the right size for a nursing mom. Take-out is also available.
2724 W. 4th Avenue | 604-738-7151
Siegel’s Bagels
What could hit the spot better than a warm bagel, smothered in cream cheese? Never mind pregnancy cravings, there’s also nursing, fatigued, everyone-wants-a-piece-of-me mom cravings. Siegel’s Montreal style bagels are made fresh day and night in their wood burning oven. They also claim to be low in fat, high in energy. Now that’s worth a snack run.
