Hop into Spring with the Big Easter Run: A Family-Friendly Event You Won’t Want to Miss!

Spring, although a bit wet, is in the air! This can only mean one thing – the Annual Big Easter Run is back at Jericho Beach Park on Saturday, April 19! This costume-encouraged, festive fun run is perfect for families, new runners, and those looking to get back into the groove of running—all while having an egg-cellent afternoon by the beach!

A Hoppin’ Good Time for Everyone

Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just starting out, the Big Easter Run has something to get everyone moving. There’s a 1km loop where little bunnies can choose to run 1km, 2km or 3km and a 5km or 10km run/walk. With mild inclines and stable paths, the scenic route winds through Jericho’s picturesque beachside trails busting with spring blooms. Take in stunning views of the North Shore and Vancouver skyline as you admire the festive costumes of the other runners and enjoy lively tunes from DJ Cuz-o. Plus, the course is stroller and pet-friendly (leashed dogs are welcome), making it an inclusive event for the whole family.

Egg-citing Activities for the Little Ones

For our youngest participants, the Gnubees Egg Hunt is an event highlight and a perfect way to end the run. Included with the 1-3km run, kids can enjoy the thrill of the hunt, finding eggs to exchange for a chocolate treat. It’s a fantastic way to get the little bunnies moving and engaged in all the fun a run can be!

When you sign up for the Big Easter Run, you’ll receive:

  • Bunny ears costume item to get into the festive spirit
  • A Bunny/Easter themed running bib for kids to colour in!
  • A delicious chocolate finishers medal
  • Access to the measured route with a water station
  • Entertainment throughout the event
  • Entry to the Gnubees Egg Hunt for kids in the 1-3km run
  • A chance to win fabulous door prizes
