5 Places Joyce Loves
Joyce shares some of her favourite places to eat, drink and go bowling in Vancouver, Burnaby and Richmond
Fairmont Vancouver Airport – High Tea
I took my 3 year son for high tea on my birthday. It was the best experience ever! He got a special cup with milk while I enjoyed a steaming cup of Earl Grey. He excitedly watched all the airplanes land and ate his adult share of delectable treats! Mommy was relaxed while he saw his toys come to life!
Vancouver International Airport, 3111 Grant McConachie Way, Richmond
Fondway Cafe
As an entrepreneur, you get a fair share of coffee shop workdays. To change things up, you’ll find me at this cute café by Metrotown. Good vibe, interesting décor, decent sandwiches and a really legit green tea latte.
4462 Beresford St, Burnaby
Moment Dessert House D
Here’s my go-to late night indulgence. The moment my toddler’s door is closed for bedtime, I open up to a box filled with the softest, fluffliest, not-over-the top sugary cheesecake. Problems gone! 😊
7-4300 Kingsway, Burnaby
Kulcup Ice Cream
Love this family run ice cream shop on Main St. Serving simple organic soft serve ice cream with a ton of topping options; the place is spacious and clean. Somehow, my son always finds his listening ears and on his best behaviour when he gets his very own kids size Honeycomb special.
2751 Main St, Vancouver
Old Orchard 5 Pin Bowling
We discovered this place one late afternoon and it was so much fun we still talk about it all-the-time! It was very interactive for the entire family – my 3 year old loved it as much as daddy did. For less than $20 we got a ton of high 5s, a glow in the dark experience and giggled like teens again.
Old Orchard Shopping Centre, 4429 Kingsway, Burnaby
Happy Day Cafe
We often sneak in an early breakfast outing (since our son is up REALLY early) before the work/daycare day starts. Happy Day Café is open at 7:30am which is perfect timing. I get my satay noodles in soup with HK style tea and my son has his Morning Special (2 eggs, ham and toast). Their French toast is killer too.
