Full Circle – My Mom and Me: Revel Kunz

In this series, we invited some of our local moms to have photos taken with their moms, and talk to us about their relationship. As we get older, it’s not uncommon to find ourselves caring for our parents as well as our own family.
Local mom Revel Kunz has a special relationship with her son’s grandmother: “I never knew my son’s Grammie growing up because she stepped into the role as Grammie after my son was born. She was the best friend of my mother-in-law since the early 1970s and was born 10 years her junior. My son’s biological paternal grandmother died of diabeties complications when he was one and a half years old. She often tells us stories from her childhood and about her friendship with my son’s Grandmother and the wonderful friendship they shared since the 1970s. We all enjoy these stories.
“We have family dinner every Friday and she is the only active Grandparent my son has. We are very grateful for her.”
