Mindset Math & STEM is more than an after-school program—it’s a dynamic learning environment where students cultivate critical skills that prepare them for an ever-changing future. Traditional education methods often focus on teaching students how to follow step-by-step processes in order to achieve the right answers on exams. While these computational skills are important, they don’t encourage students to think deeply, ask questions, or explore creative solutions.
At Mindset Math, our approach is different. We are driven by a mission to raise confident, thinking, and curious learners who can look at problems from multiple perspectives and develop innovative solutions. These three core values shape every aspect of our curriculum:
- Confidence:
Students learn to embrace challenges and view mistakes as opportunities for growth. In our classes, students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and develop resilience. By reducing math anxiety, we help students believe in their own abilities and foster a mindset of perseverance and dedication. We see them transition from hesitant problem solvers to confident thinkers who can approach difficult concepts with self-assurance. - Thinking:
Our goal is to raise not just problem solvers, but thinkers. At Mindset Math, we focus on developing both computational and relational thinking skills. Students learn to connect ideas, think critically, and creatively tackle challenges. We encourage them to ask their own questions, explore different approaches, and come up with their own solutions, fostering a deeper understanding of math and its real-world applications. - Curiosity:
Curiosity is at the heart of learning. By encouraging students to be curious, we ignite their passion for discovery and innovation. Our STEM program, for example, is designed to fuel their natural curiosity through hands-on projects in coding, 3D printing, AI, and more. These activities not only teach them technological skills but also allow them to experiment, invent, and learn through exploration.
Mindset Math is different from traditional tutoring centers because we don’t just focus on improving grades—we focus on developing engaged students. We understand that when children are confident, they are more willing to take on challenges. When they are taught to think critically, they become independent problem solvers. And when they are curious, they become lifelong learners. These qualities are essential in preparing students for future success.
In just a short time, parents have noticed not just improved grades, but also positive changes in their children’s confidence and curiosity. We have created a program where students are excited to attend because it’s not “regular” learning—it’s engaging, dynamic, and hands-on.
Additionally, our commitment to providing access to new technologies sets us apart. Many students don’t have access to tools like 3D printers, robotics kits, or advanced coding programs at home. Through our STEM program, students gain exposure to these resources, giving them a head start and preparing them for a future where technology will play an even greater role.
