American Girl Vancouver: New Specialty Boutique Open

If you have a little girl who’s at least five years old, the odds are good that you know all about American Girl. These dolls are huge, and they’ve been everywhere. Until recently you had to either visit the US – or shop online – to get your hands on an American Girl or clothes and accessories. That has all changed, with two new American Girl Boutiques now open in Canada. The American Girl Vancouver Boutique opened inside the Chapters on Robson on Saturday, May 3, 2014. We were able to visit last week to get a special preview.

American Girl Vancouver

The American Girl Boutique in Vancouver is located on the second floor of Chapters on Robson. It’s a large, bright, open space, where you can find an American Girl of your own, as well as lots of accessories. They’re currently carrying a selection of My American Girl dolls, which you can choose to closely resemble a little girl in your life. They also have the doll of the year, Isabelle, who is all about dancing. These American Girls are intended for girls age eight and up, although staff at the boutique say that girls as young as five enjoy them. They also carry a range of Bitty Babies, which are baby dolls recommended for ages three and up.

Along with the dolls there are also a range of accessories, from matching clothes for girls and their dolls, to nursery gear for your Bitty Baby, to hair styling products and sporting gear for your American Girl to doll furniture. The store also contains a salon where your American Girl doll can get her hair done, get cleaned up and even get her ears pierced. Finally, there are a range of books, which my tour guide explained were the first American Girl products that Chapters carried. There are story books, as well as books about healthy living and wellness aimed at girls. I have a nine-year-old daughter, and I think she could easily spend an afternoon poring over all of the fun stuff in the American Girl Vancouver Boutique. This is where to shop in Vancouver to get a doll fix at any age.
